GeneProof detect OMICRON variant

The new coronavirus variant is designated B.1.1.529 and carries new characteristics that are of great concern to the world. We are proud to announce that our SARS-CoV-2 pathogen detection kits, which you may know as part of the COVID Solution family of products, are not affected by this variant and continue to perform at the highest quality. 

In fact, GeneProof follows the WHO recommendations when designing its PCR kits. Our tests combine three independent sequence targets. All existing mutations including OMICRON are outside these GeneProof target regions. These strict procedures followed by GeneProof thus minimize the risk that our assays will be less sensitive in detecting new variants of the SARS-CoV-2 pathogen.
