HIGHLY SPECIFIC DETECTION

• Amplification of the multi-copy insertion sequences IS1002 (specific for both Bordetella pertussis/parapertussis) and IS1001 (specific only for B. parapertussis)
• No false-positive results for Bordetella holmesii

NOTE: GeneProof Bordetella pertussis/parapertussis PCR Kit may, in very rare cases, show cross-reactivity with some strains of B. bronchiseptica and/or Achromobacter denitrificans. Based on information from the peer-reviewed literature, both of these pathogens may be present in a very small number of human infections. The risk of cross-reactivity is < 1 % (meaning that the Analytical Specificity is > 99 %).
